EXPANSION OF THE AOTEC 2024 TRADE FAIR IN BILBAO FOLLOWING RESERVATION OF ALL THEIR SPACES
In the coming weeks, the Aotec Technological Fair, to be held on 9 and 10 May at Bilbao Exhibition Centre, is to extend their exhibition spaces following the reservation of all the existing stands, three months in advance of the trade fair of reference for digitalisation and telecommunications in rural zones.
Under the slogan “Impulso innovador” (Innovative Pulse), in its 17th edition the trade fair will attract and exhibit the leading advances and trends in connectivity and services aimed at the digital transformation of small and medium sized towns, their companies and inhabitants. Aotec 2024 will be held in Pavilion 2 of the BEC, occupying more than 8000 square metres, to which an additional zone for stands is to be added to meet the existing demand.
EUSKALDUNA BILBAO CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY WITH HISTORIC INCOME RECORD, OVER 8 MILLION EUROS AND 364,597 VISITORS
Euskalduna Bilbao closed the 2023 financial year with an economic impact of more than 100 million euros in Bilbao and Bizkaia and almost 365,000 visitors. The record results in relevant areas such as income and number of international congresses, and an established cash flow in positive figures, continuing the positive line sustained over time since 2020, support the financial control path that enables the start of an investment strategy for improvements in the building, focussed on continuing with work to improve the accessibility and sustainability of the city’s Conference Centre and Concert Hall.
Euskalduna Bilbao celebrates its 25th anniversary with record figures, the over 8 million euros of income in 2023 representing a 20% increase with respect to the previous year, strengthening the position, meaning and capacity of the Conference Centre and Concert Hall that the capital opened on 19 February 1999. One of the best-known architectural emblems of the city confirms its cultural contribution and the pull that professional and business tourism has over Bilbao and Bizkaia as an international destination, contributing to the deseasonalisation.
BEC HAS IMPACT OF OVER 156 MILLION EUROS
Bilbao Exhibition Centre had an economic impact on the GDP of over 156 million Euros in 2023 thanks to the celebration of a total of 224 events. By business line, 34 corresponded to the Exhibitions and Events category, 164 to Conventions and 26 to Bizkaia Arena. There is no doubt that this was a year of intense activity for the Basque centre, which ended with the participation of 902,741 visitors and an occupation of space of 315 days. As a result of this rate of activity, there was an estimated tax revenue of over 29.9 million euros for the Basque Treasury together with the creation of 3053 jobs.
In the Exhibitions and Events area, BEC confirmed a number of different emblematic events and introduced innovative events in which 2705 exhibiting companies took part. The celebration of +INDUSTRY was a turning point in the calendar. This business forum hosted the simultaneous celebration of industrial fairs of reference in their respective sectors, including ADDITꜪD, BeDIGITAL, Maintenance, Pumps&Valves, Subcontracting and WORKinn. In addition, events such as Steel Tech; World Maritime Week; Basque Open Industry; Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao; Euskoener; Expocadena; Food4Future and Intergraf occupied an important position in the programming of professional events.
EGURTEK CELEBRATES A DECADE AS AN INTERNATIONAL MEETING POINT FOR THE WOODWORKING INDUSTRY 16TH AND 17TH OCTOBER AT BILBAO EXHIBITION CENTRE
Egurtek, the Forum for Architecture and Construction in Wood, is preparing its 10th edition; it is one of the most outstanding international events in the field of architecture and construction in wood. A leading event which, on 16 and 17 October, will reaffirm its commitment to promoting sustainable use of wood and will provide great opportunities for commercial and knowledge exchange.
The possibilities offered by this material will be demonstrated over the two days of the Conference, the only one in Spain devoted exclusively to architecture and wood. During the event, distinguished and renowned experts will present their outstanding work, offering their unique perspective on innovations and trends in the field.
